Every Proxy 18.0.2 is an Android app from Gorilla Software LLP that turns your phone into a proxy server. You download Every Proxy when you want a laptop, tablet or other device on the same network to use the phone's internet connection through an HTTP or SOCKS proxy.
A proxy server sits between a device and the internet: the device sends its requests to the proxy, and the proxy fetches the content and passes it back. Every Proxy runs such a server directly on an Android phone. Once it is started, the app shows the phone's local IP address and the port for the HTTP proxy and, if enabled, for the SOCKS proxy. You enter those details in the network or browser settings of another device on the same Wi-Fi network, and its traffic goes out through the phone. This is useful in several situations: when a mobile plan limits classic tethering but allows normal data use, when you need a laptop to appear on the phone's mobile connection for testing, when developers want to route app traffic through a device, or when a network setup needs a simple forwarding point. The app does not encrypt your traffic or hide your identity; it is a forwarding tool, not a VPN, and the websites you visit see the phone's public address.
You need an Android phone with an internet connection and a local network shared with the device you want to connect. The app is small, about 21.03 MB according to catalogue data. Running a proxy keeps the phone busy, so keep it on a charger during long sessions.
Only run the proxy on networks you trust: anyone on the same network who knows the address and port could use it. Some mobile operators do not allow sharing a phone plan with other devices, so read your contract. Every Proxy does not protect privacy; for encrypted traffic, use a VPN, and for secure websites rely on HTTPS as usual. Install the app from Google Play rather than APK sites.
The app is listed as freeware. Extra features may be offered as in-app purchases.
If you need encryption rather than forwarding, VPN apps on our site include ProtonVPN, Hotspot Shield VPN and 1.1.1.1. Outline VPN lets you use a server you control, and Psiphon Pro is designed to get around network censorship.
